Two sensors under the floor plate on top of transmission, one for even and one for odd gears. Switch the two sensors and see if the problem moves to the odd gears. If so then change the sensor. The problems with the engine are. 1) Early 1855s did not have an oil cooler, Late 1855s and all 1950-t and 1955s had them. 2) Engines were not properly balances when assembled. 3) Weak rod bolts , if the engine has the 6 point bolts they have not been updated, the 12 point bolts are the updated bolt.The converison kit (1272964C94) costs LESS than these 2 parts alone!! Conversion is the only way to go. Any time you use coupler adapters, you restrict flow (even minutely) and add another place for oil leaks and dirt to enter the system. This made the hood about 1" too short. 706 with a german diesel should have shorter frame rails and thicker rear engine plate already. We have a problem with the high/low linkage staying in the low position while the handle goes over to the reverse gate. Use a pry bar to lightly push the linkage back to the middle position and all is well again. I thought I saw a kit to fix the console but can't remember or find it.Guards: make sure they are not worn out (square cutting edge, slot not worn way open) Holddowns: bend them to keep the sickle snug to the guard, but not tight.
